Comfortable, painless removal

Tooth Extraction in Varkala

Taking a tooth out is the last option, not the first, and we will tell you plainly whether yours can still be saved. When it genuinely cannot, an extraction stops the pain and protects the teeth around it. At our Varkala clinic the tooth is fully numbed before we start, and you leave with written aftercare and a plan for replacing it if that is needed.

Frequently asked questions

How much is this actually going to hurt?

During it, not at all. The tooth is fully numb, so what you feel is pressure and movement, which is strange but not painful. Afterwards expect soreness for a day or two, easily handled with ordinary painkillers.

What can I eat afterwards?

Soft and cool for the first day, chewing on the other side. Skip hot drinks, straws, smoking and alcohol for 24 hours, because all four disturb the clot and that is what causes a dry socket.

How long does it take to heal?

The gum closes over in about a week and the soreness is usually gone well before that. The bone underneath fills in over a few months, which is why we wait before placing an implant.

Do I have to replace the tooth?

A back tooth, often not immediately, but leaving a gap for years lets the neighbouring teeth drift and the bone shrink. A front tooth, almost always. We will set out the implant, bridge and denture options, and you decide without being pushed.
